Indian citizens currently living in India or abroad can participate if they are able to attend the regional rounds in India at their sole cost and expense.Participants who fail to attend the regional rounds due to any reason whatsoever will stand disqualified from the contest.
Only Indian Nationals are eligible to participate in the Contest.
Participants who were awarded First Prize i.e. winners of the K-POP Contest 2023 would not be allowed to participate, rest others, the Second Prize and Third Prize Winners are allowed to participate in the Contest. However, the winners of earlier editions of K-POP prior to 2023 are eligible to participate in the Contest.
By participating in the Contest, Participants agree and give their permission/consent to LG Electronics India Private Limited (“LGEIL”) and Korean Culture Center India (“KCCI”) to record, film, photograph, and audiotape or videotape their performances, and to display, publish or distribute such film, photograph, audiotape or videotape for publicity or advertising purposes on any platform.
Videos submitted by the participants and recorded by LGEIL may be edited/ used for the purpose of creating promotional contents of the KCCI.
Any individual/ group of individuals/ organisations and any other party associated with organization i.e KCCI and sponsor of theContest i.e LGEIL are not eligible to participate.
GENERAL T&Cs
Record a cover video of Korean dance/ vocal and upload it on the Contest website.
Solo/ Group entries are allowed. Maximum of 13 people allowed in a group.
For the group performance, the performing group may have the same number of members as there are in the respective bands but it's not compulsory. However, if they have the same number of members as the performance group members (for example Performance team covering BTS has 7 members in their group) would be eligible for extra points.
Participant can’t submit more than 1 entry.
Participants can apply for both dance ad vocal category in the online Round. However Regional round participants can only perform in one category.
Entries for participation in the online round will be accepted from 17th May 2024 till 28th June 2024 till 4pm. No entries will be entertained after the deadline.
Entries containing any obscene/ provocative/ inappropriate/derogatory contents will be automatically disqualified.
Multiple entries per category will lead to disqualification.
Failure to comply with previously announced regulations.
Any entry apart from K-POP 2024 will not be entertained.
Length is 2-3 minutes video (1 K-pop song) to be uploaded on the website for their submission.
Participants must note that duration of the video for the Online Round should be between 2 to 3 minutes and should not exceed the duration. The video must also be filmed in landscape mode, size of the video should not exceed 300 MB per video, Format (MP4 or MOV).
It must be filmed in high quality and the participant’s face must be clearly visible.
Videos edited in any form cannot be submitted and must be shot in one take.
K-Pop Contest 2024 India is a nationwide contest and participants can upload their respective videos irrespective of whether their city is chosen as a regional round venue or not. Participants must apply only to the region that they are currently based in/ nearest to.
Winners of the online rounds would participate in regional rounds by selecting the region where they currently reside or are the one closest region to them of the following 11 regions below
Full names and other details of all the participants should be clearly and correctly mentioned in the registration form. Incorrect entries may be rejected.
Mobile and Phone numbers provided in the registration form should be active.
In case of any invalid/misinformation or not fulfilling the criteria of the registration form will lead to disqualification.
Throwing glitter, water, gel or any other material in the performance is not allowed.
Props directly related to the choreography can be used if Korean Cultural Centre of India finds it fit. If a participant wishes to use a prop in the cover, they must approach Korean Cultural Centre of India.
Online Round (Round 1) will be held from Friday 17th May 2024 to Friday 21st June 2024.
Online Round Result and Regional Round Announcement on Friday 5th July 2024.
Regional Round (Round 2) will be held within July 2024 to Saturday 7th Sept 2024.
First Regional Round is on 27th July (Saturday) at Bengaluru (Other Regional Round dates and specific locations will be announced later).
Regional round Result and semi Finale Round Announcement on Friday 13th September 2024.
Round 3 (Semi Finale Round) will be held on Saturday 19th October 2024 which will be held in Mumbai (venue to be announced soon).
Round 4 (Grand Finale) will be held on Saturday 23rd November 2024 at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention Centre), Dwarka, New Delhi, India.
VOCAL
The K-Pop song should be covered 100% and freestyle is NOT allowed.
In the Vocal category, songs with 100% lyrics in foreign languages such as English songs or English versions of Korean songs will be acceptable, even if performed by Korean artists.
Rapping is allowed. Please note that in this case the selection criteria for vocalists will be utilized to mark your performance, and hence if you are confident in your rapping skills, and pronunciation, you may apply.
Studio recording is NOT allowed.
Mics are NOT allowed.
Merging of songs is NOT allowed.
Editing of videos in any form is NOT allowed, we request participants to not use any filter/ affect or camera work as it can be perceived as editing by the judges and could lead to disqualification.
Vocalist face must be clearly visible in the video.
The video's sound quality should be good and vocal must be audible.
No extra points for playing instruments.
DANCE
The K-Pop song should be covered 100% and freestyle is NOT allowed.
No English songs or English versions of Korean songs will be acceptable, even if performed by Korean artists.
SOLO entries are allowed, Additional points will be given if the performance team has the same number of members as the group they are covering. For example: performance team covering BTS must have 7 people in their team.
The main criteria for judging will be similarity between the official choreography of the song and the submission by participants.
Merging of songs is NOT allowed.
Editing of videos in any form is NOT allowed. We request participants to not use any filter/ effect or camera work as judges can perceive it as editing and could lead to disqualification.
It is not allowed to overlay music over the video.
Participants should know the lyrics of the part they are covering.
Dancer face must be clearly visible in the video and the quality should be good.
